Computer Chair Adjustment
When looking for an ergonomic task chair use the following guidelines:
- Chair height should allow things to be parallel to the floor and knees should be at a 90-degree angle. Elbows should be positioned at a 90-degree angle when using the computer keyboard.
- The backrest height of the chair should be adjusted so the lumbar support fits into the curvature of the back. This should be located at or slightly below the beltline.
- Between the seat pan edge and the back of the knees, there should be approximately a width of 2-3 fingers.
- The angle of the seat pan should allow the thighs to be parallel to the floor.
- The angle of the backrest should be adjusted so the user is slightly reclaimed, having an open posture. Adjustment of this angle should be done depending on the activities that are being performed.
- The armrests should be positioned slightly below the elbow while using the keyboard or mouse. Armrests of the chair should offer support when not using the keyboard or mouse.
