Industrial Hygiene

The Industrial Hygiene (IH) program is dedicated to the recognition, prevention, and control of factors or stressors arising in or from any of the university facility which may cause sickness, impaired health, and wellbeing, or significant discomfort among faculty, staff, students and visitors. Critical elements of the program involve the assessment and controls of physical, chemical and environmental agents such as contaminants, noise, and vibration, thermal stressors, indoor environmental stressors, etc., and the application of engineering control and personal protective equipment to minimize the impacts of such agents.
