Ergonomics

Ergonomics looks at the way we physically interact with our environment at work, rest and play, finding ways to fit the tasks we do to the way our bodies naturally work.

As an ECU employee, you are in the best position to evaluate the tasks you do each day, whether it be computer data entry, microsurgery, or plumbing. No one knows your job as well as you do.

The links on this page are intended to provide you with the information and basic tools necessary to assess and correct your job.

Be sure to report any physical discomforts that last more than a week. Report them first to your supervisor. If you are unable to identify the source or find a solution, complete the Ergonomic Evaluation Request Form.
